Job Description

AdaCore core product portfolio covers compilation and verification tools. They target primarily the Ada programming language, but include more and more technologies around C/C++, Rust, formal proof and modeling, and they operate in rich embedded environments. We are serving today primarily the Aerospace and Defense markets, and are looking at extending our footprint to Automotive, Medical Devices or Industrial Automation. To accommodate technology adoption both in our core market as well as the new ones we’re entering, we need to provide a lot of custom crafted services such as training, mentorship, consulting, prototyping, dedicated development, etc. We’re looking for somebody to develop this activity and lead a team of currently two full time employees, expected to grow over time. 

As a lead of this team, you will be responsible for both leading the services activity and team, and also to contribute to some of the activity. You will utilize the skills you’ve acquired in your 5 to 10 years of embedded software development to help new, and prospective customers in their adoption of our products. As a Service Engineer, you will also be responsible for targeted customer development contracts.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the Service team, which comprises today two full time engineers, is expected to grow over the next few years, and can mobilize the effort of the Product Engineering team when necessary
  • Serving as the point person between AdaCore and assigned customers during mentorships and evaluations;
  • Participating in customer-specific software development activities.
  • Understanding each customer's and project's unique challenges and how best we can help address them;
  • Organizing and / or delivering on-site follow-up and consulting;
  • Organizing and / or delivering on-site customer training;
  • Developing representative code and processes in customer context to demonstrate technology usage;


  • Prior leadership or management experience
  • 5 to 10 years in embedded software development;
  • C and C++;
  • Prior customer facing experience
  • You have experience with typical software development practices including test driven development, Q&A procedures, static analysis techniques, and continuous integration methodologies
  • You are familiar with industry standard tooling such as version control systems, static analysis tools, and testing tools
  • You have strong technical presentation and interpersonal skills
  • You are comfortable with domestic and international travel (~25-35%)
  • You thrive in an autonomous environment, balancing long term and short responsibilities 
  • Highly motivated to learn about leading edge technologies;
  • Strong communication and human interaction abilities;
  • Ability to work in a team environment;
  • Though not strictly necessary, knowledge of Ada is a plus.
