Senior General Accountant

Job description: 

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the accounting operations of our French entity and overseeing the accounting operations of three other entities: Estonia, Germany, and the United Kingdom. You will work closely with the external accounting firms in these countries to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial reporting requirements.

What you will do

• Accounting operations for the french entity 

  • Complete management of the accounting function for the French entity, including preparation of financial statements, management of tax and social security filings, and oversight of cash flow.

  • Month-end reporting :

    • Manage monthly close and liaise with business to obtain information

    • Book month-end entries

  • Analyse accounts

  • Taxes

    • Calculate all local taxes and declare monthly and annual tax returns : corporate income tax, VAT, and other local taxes that are due

    • Pay all taxes in a timely manner

  • Cash flow management :

    • Manage bank reconciliation process

  • Annual audit:

    • Send all documents for audit

    • Answers all auditors’ questions

• Active participation in the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, in collaboration with relevant teams, to optimize accounting and financial processes on an international scale.

• Contribution to financial analysis and report preparation for management, providing strategic insights to support decision-making

• Supervision and coordination of accounting activities for the entities in Estonia, Germany, and the United Kingdom, ensuring compliance with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications: 

This job is perfect for you if you have: 

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field: A bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is essential to ensure a strong foundation in financial principles and practices.

• At least 5 years of experience in an accounting firm

• A strong knowledge of French GAAP and French tax rules (IFRS and US GAAP a plus)

• Proficient English skills

• Proficient skills in MS Excel and ideally ERP systems 

• Experience working in an international environment, in a group with many foreign subsidiaries

• Organized, self-motivated, rigorous, and accountable for the classification of all financial documents.

• Very good communication skills

• Problem-solving mindset

• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and to deal with constant changes
