AdaCore is looking for a Project Manager to join an international team working on the offering related to the Rust programming language.

Context

AdaCore, in partnership with Ferrous Systems (a technology company specializing in the Rust programming language) aims to further develop the Ferrocene Rust toolchain in order to support embedded mission- and safety-critical applications, and to qualify it under relevant industry software safety standards.

 

Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Managing projects around the development of our Rust technology, such as tool development and certification;
  • Interfacing with the Rust Product Manager to understand long-term objectives driven by customer and market needs;
  • Interfacing with the Rust Technical Lead to understand short-term objectives driven by technology / project needs;
  • Developing and maintaining project management tools, such as kanban or scrum, to provide structure to the team for organizing its work;
  • Interfacing regularly with team members to ensure that they are on track for their objectives and know what they’re working on next;
  • Developing and presenting metrics to the Technical Lead and Product Manager to help communicate constraints, issues, capabilities, and needs for the team.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Software Engineering degree and at least two years of practical experience in project management at a software company;
  • Knowledge and experience in at least one agile framework, such as Scrum;
  • Good written and oral English;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Leadership, management, and conflict-resolution experience.

The following are not mandatory but are considered a plus

  • Knowledge of one high-level programming language among the following: Ada, C/C++, Rust;
  • Comfortable with a Unix development environment (git/svn, shell, etc.);
  • Experience with build and testing infrastructure, or quality assurance;
  • Experience using the Python programming language in a production environment;
  • Knowledge of documentation building tools like ReStructuredText, Sphinx, AsciiDoc and Antora;
  • Scrum certification;
  • Agile certification.
