Product Owner – to lead the People domain or the Payroll domain

Make your impact and be part of shaping the future for SameSystem.

SameSystem is a Danish Software-as-a-Service company. We provide the leading Workforce Management Solution for the retail and hospitality industries in Europe. With advanced forecasting based on AI, compliancy features that assist with local labour laws, and a comprehensive set of tools that make it easier to plan and manage people, large companies such as Bestseller, Pandora, and Intersport use the solution every day to optimise their business.

The need for SameSystem has only been amplified recently with COVID-19, and thus we continue to see growth across Europe – that is why we need more Product Owners to steer our increasingly larger product team.

The product is split into several domains, and right now we primarily look for product owners to lead our “People” domain squad or our “Payroll” domain squad.

Your role in the Company

You will be part of a 50-man Product Tribe and be Product Owner of the “People” squad or the “Payroll” squad. We adhere to an agile mindset and we go far to empower you and your team – advocating you to make your own decisions and take chances, turning failures into opportunities.

We are the Great Explorers United, and these three words represent our values in the product team: always strive to improve your craftmanship; always challenge the status quo and explore for better ways; always help each other.

As a Product Owner you work strategically, tactically, and operationally. This means that you will be involved in the entire production chain – from the initial idea, where you co-create with customers, to the final execution. We work with OKRs, allowing you to interpret the overall vision of our product into concrete actions for your squad and within your product domain.

It is paramount that you are confident in guiding your team, making sure each of your squad members reach their maximum potential. With a customer-centric and outside-in approach, you can identify business opportunities and seize these with the rest of your top-class squad members.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Take part in the overall vision of the product at quarterly big room planning sessions
  • Build the product roadmap for your squad team
  • Take lead on new development projects
  • Create requirement specifications for development projects
  • Keep track of your squad team and assist them when necessary
  • Research the newest technology, trends, and market-specific rules in retail and hospitality

Your profile:

You must possess a blend of business knowledge and technical savviness and be able to see the bigger picture and think out-of-the-box, in order to apply the proper solution. You are able to bring new and innovative ideas to the table.

With a desire to understand our go-to-market, the retail and hospitality industries, you are able to predict and deliver what our customers really need. In all the ideas you push forward, the user experience is in the front seat – we provide complex solutions in a streamlined and intuitive format.

You are diligent in everything you do, but also appreciate that things can move fast, and sometimes you must meet short deadlines. Flexibility is a natural part of your DNA, and you can stay calm and collected in hectic situations.

With a flair for project management, you are able to bring new initiatives to our internal workflow to further improve it.

Mandatory qualifications:

  • You are highly proficient in writing and speaking English
  • You have a flair for IT software
  • You can comprehend complex tasks and requirements
  • You understand what a good user experience entails, and deliver intuitive solutions

Preferred qualifications:

  • You have experience with product management
  • You have experience with Human Resources / People or Payroll
  • You have experience from retail or hospitality
  • You have experience with SaaS solutions

Join a social and entrepreneurial working environment

SameSystem consists of 40 people in Denmark and 30 people in Lithuania – about 110 people in total in Europe. All proud to be a part of our fast-growing, market-leading company. Here you can loudly voice your passion and hear the people around you echo it.

We have a highly motivating working environment where we are eager to help each other and celebrate our successes. You can look forward to participating in many different social activities and fun company parties (when the situation permits it) – we are a social bunch who likes to spend time together.

Office and work hours

We trust you, and thus you are able to work remotely and manage your own work hours. However, we like to work together, so we hope to see you at the office, where there is catering and snacks.
