Context:

QGen is an automatic code generator from Simulink/Stateflow that produces Ada or C code. It targets embedded mission critical systems, where processing resources are scarce and performance of the generated code is paramount.

QGen is mainly used for avionics applications currently, but AdaCore aims to target the automotive market as well, therefore supporting AUTOSAR is a key asset in this quest.

The goal of this internship is to understand the AUTOSAR framework and define a strategy to adapt the code generated by QGen in order to meet the standards defined by AUTOSAR. This involves developing new code generation patterns and documenting the findings.

Goals:

  • Understand code generation in QGen

  • Understand the AUTOSAR framework

  • Modify manually the generated code to meet the AUTOSAR standards

  • Identify new patterns in code generation to meet the AUTOSAR standards and document the findings

  • Implement AUTOSAR-compliant code generation for some Simulink blocks

Skills required or Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with one high-level object-oriented programming language (Ada, C++, Java)

  • Familiarity with Simulink/Stateflow

  • As a bonus, familiarity with AUTOSAR

  • Ability to learn quickly about new development practices

Timeframe:

During 2023 - 6 months
